VOLUNTEERS

Rescue North must rely heavily on volunteers for all aspects of shelter operation.
Since October 23, 2009, Rescue North has been without a shelter facility and is presently keeping rescued animals in foster homes or transferring them, as space allows, to rescue facilities in Winnipeg if not adopted.
At the present time volunteers are needed to provide temporary foster homes and transport animals. Experience in handling animals, particularly dogs, is required
Volunteers are also needed to help plan and/or help out at fund raising events in Northwestern Ontario communities. The success of a regional shelter is dependent on communities working together and contributing equally. No one community can support the organization alone.
Great fundraising ideas are welcomed, as well as suggestions for a future location.
Anyone 16 years of age, or older may volunteer. Students at local secondary schools and colleges are encouraged to fulfil their graduation requirement for volunteer hours by helping out.

If you have a special skill to offer or just a love of animals and time to spare, please give us a call.
The work is sometimes demanding and not always glamorous but there is no more worthwhile service than helping animals who are totally dependant on us for their survival. What you give, you will get back from these little furry friends a hundred fold. Most importantly, you will help save lives.

Volunteer help is desperately needed. Our present resources are spread far too thin to accomplish all the necessary tasks involved with maintaining the shelter and marketing the organization throughout the region.
