[ Satellite Locations ]  [ Think Recycle Fundraiser ]  [ DONATE HBC REWARDS TO RESCUE NORTH ]
Rescue North receives no government funding and must rely solely on the generosity of donors. The start up costs are significant and it
may be well into 2010 before Charitable Registration status is received and with it, the right to issue income tax receipts. These are very challenging times. Due to the sudden closure of the existing regional facility Rescue North did not have the luxury of starting small and growing slowly.
At the present time, there is limited help available for animals found outside of communities with Animal Control Services. The number of animals in urgent need is overwhelming and most of these animals are sick, injured, covered in lice and infested with parasites requiring costly veterinary care.
As of October 23, 2009 we are without a shelter facility and are relying on foster homes and already overburdened rescue facilities in Winnipeg to take in animals during the interim. Volunteer drivers with experience in handling animals, particularly dogs, are needed to assist with such transfers.
We are also desperately in need of financial assistance, temporary foster homes and volunteers to assist with fund raising events.
Any assistance from the public in finding  new location would be gratefully appreciated.
